Small Steps Big Vision offers in-person workshops focused on equipping students with strategies to live a happy and successful life. Each workshop can stand alone or be used as part of a 3 session package, adapted for ages 12 to 18.
We offer a course of self-confidence training, resilience building and emotional fitness strategies that help young people believe in and develop their potential.
Students will be identifying their strengths and building on them, replacing limiting beliefs with positive and empowering affirmations, and using habit stacking to improve productivity.
I will introduce them to and practice a variety of relaxation techniques, equip them with tools to manage and work through challenging social situations and provide practical ways to have a positive relationship with social media.
Each student can be supplied with a Big Vision workbook that they can use to record their reflections and self-realisations. All practical tasks and strategies can be recorded in here too, to enable participants to refer to their new toolkit long after the session is over.
I’m excited to help young people establish what is important to them, recognise their self-worth and empower them with the resilience needed to handle the challenges of growing up in the 21st-century, and in the short term, navigating the transition back into the classroom, post lockdown, and thrive.
The habits we learn as children are most often taken into adulthood, both the good and less desirable. This is why we feel it is essential to raise awareness and acceptance for what has been, whilst empowering students with practical strategies to help them move forward in every area of their lives, from relationships to healthy habits and academic success.
We strive to leave participants feeling confident, good at spotting opportunities, and worthy of going after each one that comes their way.
To maximise benefit, we advise choosing at least two, one-hour sessions.
Sessions can be delivered in a workshop format together or individually over the same number of weeks.
1. The Self Audit and Moving Forward
An opportunity for participants to reflect on the year that has been; their wins, challenges, and key learnings. Practical ways to move from a low, lethargic unproductive state, to one of high energy, confidence and joy. Time to consider what they like about themselves.
2. Limiting Beliefs and Positive Affirmations
What we say to ourselves out loud and in our minds, matters. A practical session identifying thoughts and untruths that don’t serve participants and providing simple, sustainable techniques to re-wire their brains for success. We explore how damaging fearing what other people may think, and fear of failure can be.
3. Strong Start, Fresh Finish
Examples of how to set yourself up for success each morning and end the day relaxed, calm and worry-free, optimising your chance of a good night’s rest.
4. Goal Setting and Habit Stacking
Practical steps to set and achieve goals in all areas of life.
5. Healthy Relationships
Reflecting on their relationships with themselves, friends, family and social media. Targeting the thief of joy – comparison. Students will prepare a 30 second ‘pitch’, sharing what makes them special or unique.
6. Resilience, Excuses and Growth Mindset
How to build resilience, why it’s important to do things that challenge you and techniques to cultivate a growth mindset.
7. I Feel Great!
Key elements to living a stress-free life, including gratitude, compassion, acceptance, setting goals, forgiveness and relaxation.
8. Big Vision
Participants will create a vision board that they will take home (and a virtual one they can keep as a screensaver on their phones where appropriate). They will consider what they want to do, to have and who they are striving to be. I will help guide the to see how transferable their skills are, looking specifically at their hobbies and extra curricular activities.
